Croatian National Lacrosse Team Head Coach Dominick A. "Dino" Mattessich is a Croatian-American university administrator and former college lacrosse coach and player. He served as the head coach for the University of Maryland and University of Baltimore NCAA lacrosse teams and for the University of Connecticut MCLA team. He has worked in collegiate athletic administration for over 20 years and is currently the deputy director of athletics at Hofstra University.
Mattessich was born in the former Yugoslavia in what is now Croatia, and later emigrated to Freeport, NY. As a freshman at Freeport HS he was told that he would not make the varsity track team, and told to try playing Lacrosse instead, a sport he would ultimately excel in. Mattessich played lacrosse at the University of Maryland from 1971 to 1974, including on the team that won the NCAA National Championship in 1973.

Croatian National Lacrosse Team Assistant Coach Kevin Boyle is a Croatian-American lawyer who has been coaching Youth, High School and College Lacrosse in the U.S. for 20 years. Most recently, Coach Boyle's Smithson Valley Rangers won the San Antonio, Texas 2016 Youth Lacrosse Championship. Boyle's son, Alston, was a defenseman on that team. Boyle played at Libertyville HS in Chicago and was an Illinois High School All-Star in 1995. Boyle played at the University of Illinois from 1996 through 1998, was a member of the Illini's '97 and '98 Big Ten Champion Teams, and played in the '97 and '98 MCLA National Championship Tournatments.
